Welcome to the Project, Lisa Wells!

Lisa Wells has been working at CFHT for over 21 years, first as an observing assistant, then as a remote observer. Lisa is now joining the MSE Project Office part-time as the SharePoint Administrator, working to ensure that the collaboration platform is optimally-deployed and that the Project’s document management software is appropriately configured and well-curated.

Lisa earned her master’s degree in Astronomy from the University of Arizona after having worked for NOAO for seven years. The first five years were at CTIO in La Serena, Chile, and the following two were at Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO) in Tucson as a data reduction specialist and observing assistant. Lisa has extensive observing experience including observing with the Cerro Calan/Cerro Tololo Supernova search in Chile, and collaborating with a group from Harvard imaging with the 2.1M at KPNO to observe late time type II supernova events. She has also worked with collaborators at OSU studying the IR light distribution of galaxies. In addition, Lisa contributed to the supernova field by reducing and analyzing countless images producing the light curves and spectral evolution of many bright nearby events like SN1987A, SN1989B, SN1991T, and SN 1991bg.

Welcome to the Project, Lisa!
