MSE Welcomes Mamta Pommier to lead effort on MSE Synergies White Paper

The MSE Science Team is embarking on an effort to produce a white paper outlining synergies between MSE and other facilities. As discussed at the April 2021 Monthly Science Telecon, there has recently been considerable interest in this work as observatories having capabilities complementary to MSE advance toward first light.  The white paper will highlight scientific synergies and opportunities between MSE and other facilities in terms of wavelength coverage, sensitivity, and imaging vs. spectroscopic observations, while considering both ground and space-based facilities.

We are pleased to announce that Mamta Pommier (Centre de Recherche Astrophysique de Lyon) has agreed to lead this effort.  We look forward to working with her and the many members of the Science Team who have already expressed interest in contributing to the white paper.  This work will be carried out over the next few months, with a goal of producing a completed document to provide input into the MSE Preliminary Design Phase Readiness Review (PDPRR) early next year.
