MSE @ Canada

MSE @ Canada

The MSE Project Office team attended two back-to-back Canadian astronomy meetings in the beautiful city of Montreal, updating astronomers on the impending transition of CFHT to MSE, and engaging the community in dialogue on navigating and managing the upcoming changes.

The Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope 12th Users’ Meeting, 19 – 22 May, and the Canadian Astronomical Society annual general meeting, 17 – 20 June, were held in Montréal, Québec, within one month of each other. The MSE Project Office team attended both meetings with members of the MSE Science Team. While the Science Team highlighted the MSE enabled discoveries in stellar astrophysics, exoplanet science, time domain and transient science, galaxy evolution and cosmological surveys, the PO team presented the project status in order to bring awareness of the plan to transform CFHT into MSE within this decade.  The PO team staffed a joined CFHT/MSE booth to engage astronomers in the current and future CFHT and MSE user communities.
