The MSE team were at the 233rd meeting of the American Astronomical Society, held in Seattle, January 6 – 10 2019. Participants were treated to a virtual reality tour of MSE at the booth in the Exhibit Hall. Multiple MSE presentations were made throughout the week, highlighting the scientific impact of MSE in studies of Galactic chemical evolution and galaxy formation, in addition to the details of the design of MSE. The MSE presence culminated in a very well attended Open House in the early evening of Wednesday. Guests were treated to drinks and light refreshments as team members – including our new Project Scientist, Jennifer Marshall – described the scientific status and path forward for MSE.

The US currently makes up 25% of the science team for MSE, and Jennifer highlighted the opportunities available to potential new member of the project. MSE participation is a “mid-scale” opportunity for the US, and Astro2020 will be a great chance for the US to highlight the importance of MSE capabilities to their community.
